Hello!
My name is Michelle and I’m an artist from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada.
My jewellery practice (formally known as Mich-Matched Metals) manifested from a desire to create and to express myself. My jewellery work is experimental in nature - exploring different materials and mediums. After doing two years at the Alberta University of the Arts in Calgary, as a Jewellery & Metals major, I am currently working on a BFA as a Studio Arts major at MacEwan University in Edmonton.
My first published children’s book Ralphy’s Panama Adventure was inspired by a spontaneous trip to Panama in 2019, where I explored the beautiful country and met some pretty rad humans and dogs.
My drawing and painting style have yet to be fully discovered. I enjoy colour and conceptual exploration in pencil, drawing portraitures (humans and fur friends), and playing with watercolour and acrylics.
When I’m not creating, you can find me outside exploring by foot or bicycle.
